Procrastination is the silent killer of dreams. There is a common belief that people who lack success do so because they do not know what they want from life or how to go about achieving it. From my coaching experience, I have found that this is rarely true. Many times, people know what they want to achieve and they know what they need to do to get there but they just cannot get themselves to take the necessary action. If they are ever to achieve their goals they must learn to end procrastination for good.
There is a principle reason why people fail to end their procrastination - they think that procrastination is a behavioural problem. However, while procrastination appears in the form of behaviour i.e. action not taken; procrastination is more often a thinking problem. It is the beliefs that you hold which govern your behaviour. If you find that you are not taking the necessary action; it is likely that you hold some unhelpful beliefs or thoughts about the work you need to do.
It is true what they say about there being 2 types of people - talkers and doers. Talkers are forever talking about their goals while doers set about achieving their goals. At the end of day, it is the doers who achieve the greater success. The reason for this is that they hold the right beliefs about their work. These beliefs empower them to avoid procrastination and take action as soon as they have identified the right course of action.
I have created the infographic below to inform you of some of these core beliefs which you too can adopt to achieve your goals.
